Nintendo DSi: Homebrew flashcard spotlight

Nowadays, the only way to run any custom homebrew on the Nintendo Dual Screen generation of portables is to use a custom flash cart designed to be used with a micro SD card. At the time of this writing, there are tons of different types and variations of flash carts, as well as knock offs that the wise modder must watch out for! Here is a simple guide to get you started on NDS homebrew.

I personally use Acekard2i for my DSi system. It has proved to be trustworthy; however, I did have to borrow a DS Lite in order to update the card for use on my DSi. The company promised to do this before hand, as this was the "Holiday" Edition meant for the new NDSi firmware. Otherwise, this card works like a charm coupled with an 8GB micro SD card from Sandisk.

What's required for user operation is simple. All one must do is drag and drop their backups and homebrew into the root of their micro sd card. After popping the cards back in, the firmware for the Acekard will recognize your .nds backup files and media. This is but a scratch of the surface, as more will come in the near future!
